[edit] About Thomas IsbellWayne County, Kentucky, Pioneers: Biographical Sketches and Civil Court Records (1974) by June Baldwin Bork, pages 140-44 show 20 children of Thomas Isbell who was born about 1784 in North Carolina and died 1862. He married first in Wayne County 1804 While Godfrey Isbell (b. 1750) was living there, having lived in N.C. in 1784 also. Nancy born about 1779-89 is proven by the fact Godfrey gave consent for her marriage to James Brooks in Wayne Co., KY in 1804. These must have been among the younger children. Thomas Isbell b. c1784 N.C. also married in Wayne County, KY in 1804, to his first wife Leah Francis, daughter of Adjutant John Francis and Ann "Nany" Mounts (Mounce/Mountz).
