Notes homas Hicklin, Jr. Thomas, Jr. was born around 1760 (BR), the fourth child of Captain Thomas (RH). Married Rebecca Graham (RH). They lived in a log house at "Hicklin's Hill" (now called "Hickman Hill"), south of Cole's Road as it crosses "Hicklin Branch" (now known as "Locust Creek" or "Hickman Branch") (EC). He died about 1804 in Franklin County, Kentucky and Rebecca died in 1814 (EC). Their children were: William, b. November 17, 1789 - d. September 25, 1857 (PP); and perhaps Jane, m. ___ Denny (EC); Thomas (EC); John, (EC); Moses, (EC); Thomas, (EC); Elizabeth (EC). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Reprinted from Past and Present of Livingston County by A. J. Roof, 1913. Volume 2, Page 231. On the 1st of March, 1866, Mr. Hawkins married in Livingston county Miss Nancy Ethaline Hicklin [daughter of William & Nancy Hicklin], a native of this county, born December 25, 1845. Her paternal grandfather was Thomas Hicklin, probably a native of Ireland, who was reared in Virginia and there followed farming. His death probably occurred in Missouri. He married Miss Rebecca Graham, a native of either Ireland or Virginia and to their union were born ten children, John, James, Thomas, William, Moses, Robert, Elizabeth, Margaret, Rebecca and Jane, all of whom have passed away. --------------------------- The abbreviations used in this page are to help clarify where I have found the information: BR (Braswell); Forks of Elkhorn Church (EC); PP (Palombi); RH (Roy Hicklin). There are several times when the information I have differs and I have listed those differences and their sources. I have very Little proof in hand to verify most of the early history, so I will leave it to the devoted genealogist to determine which is correct
