Long time no speak (or email)! I hope all is well with you. I thought you might be interested to know that I think I have finally found our long lost Thomas Hickey. I got the registry people to search for me, anda printout arrived in today`s post, which looks very much like the right TH to me. He died in an Old Men`s Home on 3 March 1917, in Hereford St Timaru NZ fromarterio-sclerosis and heart failure, and is listed as a widower with no children mentioned, which rather suggests that sadly the family had abandoned him. Theprintout states that he was aged 86, was a stonemason from County Cork Irelandand had been in NZ 55 years, so those details seem to be more or less fit withwhat we know. He`s buried in Timaru. When I go back to NZ for my big genealogical tour one of these days, perhaps I`ll go visit him. Best wishes, Jo Featherston from Sydney but currently in Melbourne for a 3 year stint
