Person:Thomas Harper (18)

I am looking for information on my gggrandfather Thomas W. Harper b. 1823 according to the census he was born in Tenn. The story is he came to Texas as a 12 or 13 year old orphan possibly with a John Cook. Dont know how true that story is. I beleive he may have been related in some way to a Josiah Harper from Va. Josiah was born about 1795 died Sept 22, 1859. He is listed on the Fayette County Texas 1850 census as a Baptist Clergyman from Va. His wife Elizabeth was from Ky their children were born in Ala. Thomas W. Harper was named executor in Josiah's will but it seems Josiah didnt leave anything to Thomas so I dont think he was a son.

Thomas married Lucinda Jane Mc Collum, Sellers, (Cook ) her third husband. In Fayette County. Lucinda died and is buried there d. 1891

Thomas left Fayette County about 1874 and I dont know what happen to him. One story is he went to Brownwood Texas remarried and died there. ( havent found any evidence of this) Another story is he went to Ark. I am trying to find out who his parents were and what happened to him after he left Fayette County in 1874.
