Thomas was born about 1690 in England; some say in Wales. This is largely based on a presumed marriage date of about 1715. He would have been about 25 years old. Some researchers put his birth at 1675, but this would have made him age 40 at his marriage. And since it seems he came to Virginia a young man not too long before his marriage, 1675 seems too early. It would also mean he was over 100 years old when he died; very unlikely.

Thomas married Sarah Witt about 1715 probably in Charles City County, Virginia Colony. This is based on birth of children.
