'Thomas was King's Sergeant and clerk of the King's Bench when, on 1 Oct 1422, he was appointed Coroner and King's Attorney [to King Henry VI]. ... [H]e kept [these positions] until just before his own death in 1458. ... He had moved his family into the gentry in ways which Carpenter suggests were somewhat unscrupulous.'[1]

Thomas left his property to his nephew John; his great-nephew (also John) was 'the chief beneficiary of the maneuvers of .. Thomas.'[1]
