This volume clarifies many of the questions about the English Griswold ancestors, namely:
- Edward Griswold of Killingworth, CT was son of George Greswold by his first wife Dousabel (possibly Leigh).
- Matthew Griswold of Windsor, CT was son of the same George Greswold, but by his second wife, Honora (possibly Pawley).
- Francis Griswold of Cambridge, MA was the son of Clement Greswold, a second cousin of George Griswold.
- Michael Griswold of Wethersfield, CT was a distant cousin of Edward, Matthew and Francis-- their common ancestor being a John Greswold 5-6 generations up.
