Petition by William CAMPBELL to declare Thomas GILES a Lunatic. Thomas is old and feeble about age 100 and is incapable of governing and protecting himself. He has been that way for about five years (Note: that would be shortly after his son Robert died.) He has a house and 5 acres in Mahoning twp. adjoining the county line and the Susquehanna River and another frame house and 3 acres in township. He has GILES grandchildren living: Robert age 9, Peggy age 14, and Jane age 10 (note one child is missing). He has a daughter in Mississippi name and age unknown and a daughter Peggy, deceased who married Robert DUNLOP and moved to New York State and it is not known if there are children. Book two records some of the sale of Thomas' land. Part of it went to Archibald CAMPBELL.
