Notes: Thomas is noted in taxation records and as elected path master, first name "Hugh" unlikely in spite of reference in "Pioneer Life on the Bay of Quinte" which is also the source of the claim that he was an immigrant from Belfast, Ireland. Son Simeon's marriages - 1st ?, 2nd widow Abigail (__) Scofield. Son Benjamin's marriages - 1st ?, 2nd Margaret Carman.

“Marey” Garrett’s will lists children: Smith Seaman (d. bef. 1806, child of a previous husband?), Nicholas, Samuel (m. Marbery Robinson), John (m. Elizabeth Waldemeier), Thomas, Jr., Simeon (m. Lois Curtis), William (m. poss. Sarah Wilbur), Isaac, Benjamin (m. Margaret Carman), and Joseph (m. Rebecca Cowell). Joseph is named as executor. Lists daughters Margaret Shaw and Hannah Stanton (m. John Stanton); also mentions apparent sons-in-law George Robertson and Thomas Stevens who married unnamed Garrett daughters - who may have died prior to the writing of this will, but who left grandchildren. Several grandchildren named with reference to their parents. The will was probated on 5 April 1815.
