Information on Thomas Ficklin
From "A Genealogical History of the Ficklin Family", by W.J. Kistler, pg. 38-9:
Thomas Ficklin (I), son of William (I) and Sarah Ficklin, lived all his life in King George county. He married Susannah Bruce, daughter of Charles Bruce of King George (will of Ch. Bruce, King George, 1754). J Thomas Ficklin doubtless survived his wife, as he does not mention her in his will, proved 3 December, 1778. His children, named in the will, were as follows:
- 13. Susannah, who married Wm. Sweetnam.
- 14. Ann, who married a Fewell.
- 15. Margaret, who married Wm. Jenkins.
- 16. Sarah, who married John Swetnam, and had son, John Swetnam, Jr., whose daughter, Sarah Ficklin Swetnam, married a Bryan and lives at Stafford C. H., Va.
- 17. Elizabeth.
- 18. Lucy.
- 19. John.
- (One daughter of Thomas Ficklin married a Duff, and moved to Kentucky. Another married a Matthews, and died in Virginia [Slaughter MS. ]. One daughter, not mentioned in the will, doubtless died before the will was made. She married a Bell, for the will mentions a grandson, Lewis Bell.)
