In the name of God Amen, Iredell County Known ye that I Thomas Erwin being of perfect mind & memory & calling to mind the mortality of all men do Constitute & appoint this my last Will & testament & dispose of my estate in the following manner Viz.
first I give & bequeath to my Son Wm. Erwin five Shillings
Second I leave & bequeath to my son-in-law Walber Gaith Bell five shillings
also I give & bequeath to my well beloved Wife Elizabeth Erwin the use & prophets [profits] of my plantation during her natural life her bead [bed] & furniture & all the houshold [household] furniture except as hereafter disposed of & my hors [horse] Prince & old mare & all the Plantaton Implements tro? of the best of the cows & all the sheep & hogs.
also I leave & bequeath & Devise to my son[s] Thos. & Jas. Erwin my plantation to be eaquaually [equally] divided eaqually divided between them provided Thomas Erwin pay to Henry Erwin my son twenty Pounds & James pay to George Erwin my son twenty pounds which I give & bequeath to each of them in full of their share of my estate provided also that my sons Thomas & James pay & discharge any debts I owe again
I give & bequeath to my son-In-law Arthur Walker my buck horse also I give & bequeath to Elizabeth Erwin my daughter my gray hors[e] colt
also I give & bequeath to my daughters Jean & Agnes the remainder of the cattle to be eaqually [equally] Divided between them & I hereby appoint my beloved Wife Elizabeth Erwin Executrix & my son Thomas Erwin Executor of this my last will & testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 23d. of Octobr 1792.
N.B. I give to Mary Torrenton five shillings

He lived in the southeast section of the Fourth Creek Congregation. He died before 1793 in Iredell County, North Carolina. Based on his estate record, he probably had a son Thomas Erwin, Jr., who was still in Iredell County in 1800.
