Thomas Durbin was brought to Maryland from England with Lord Baltimore in 1638. The Durbin family is found named in Baltimore County land grants and descendants resided in what was once Baltimore County, now Harford County, and migrated to western Maryland, Washingron County, PA, Ohio and points west.

Thomas bought a 200 acre tract for 2500 pounds of tobacco, located onthe north side of the Patapsco River, near Welshmans Creek, in 1676.

He owned a property known as "Hab-Nab-at-a-Venture", surveyed as 350 acres on June 30, 1688. The tract lying on the north side of the Patapsco River, belonged to his heirs 1700-1720, and is the present site of Druid Hill Park in Balitmore City.[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 15, Ed. 1, Tree #0899, Date of Import: Apr 25, 1999]

Thomas owned a property known as "Hab-Nab-at-a-Venture",surveyed as 350 acreson June 30,1688.The tract lying on the North side of the Patapsco River , belonged to his heirs 1700-1720, and is the present site of Druid Hill Park in Baltimore City.

Thomas witnessed the will of Jane Long of Baltimore County, Md dated May 19, 1696 proven June 3, 1696 ( Will Book 7;pg 141).

Christened in St. Margaret's Church in London, England.
