    THOMAS3 DOWNES, b. say 1688, d. Somersworth, N.H., before 29 Nov. 1749 when the administration of his estate was granted to Samuel Wentworth, Charles Baker, and Amos Howard;286 m. bef. 22 Feb. 1710/1, when his daughter Mary was born in Dover,287 SARAH HAM, daughter of John and Mary (Heard) Ham,288 who prob. d. bef. 1 Jan. 1749 when she was not mentioned in the administration of her husband’s estate. In 1713, Martha Lord gave to her “beloved grandson” Thomas Downes of Dover 100 acres of land on the east side of the great pond. Among Thomas Downes’ heirs in the 1749 division of his estate were: heirs of Samuel Dam deceased and Mary his wife; heirs of Daniel Ham and Sarah his wife; heirs of John Garland and Elizabeth his wife; heirs of Benjamin Heard and Anna his late wife; heirs of Thomas Downs and Mercy his wife; Samuel Wentworth and Patience his wife; Charles Baker and Love his wife; and Amos Howard and Charity his wife.289 Children of Thomas3 and Sarah (Ham) Downes, all b.
