Broad Cole was one of this family (we do not refer to the son of Thomas Cole, of that name, born in 1802) and was a tax payer in 1806. Bishop Asbury preached in his cabin at 3 P. M. on a week day, in 1803, the first preaching west of Lancaster, O. We cannot learn of any descendants of this Broad Cole, but that he lived here in 1803 and 1806 is unquestioned.
