    "Thomas (Chester), b 7 Jan 1764 (Barbour citing VR 2:80a); bapt. 15 Jan 1764 (Wethersfield First Congregational Church Records, slip index citing JL:43); d 2 Oct 1831, at age 52[sic], bur. in Village Cemetery, Wethersfield, Connecticut (Hale 52); … He graduated from Yale College in 1780 with his brother Stephen. Following graduation he worked as a Tutor at Yale then returned in 1783 to Wethersfield to set up a law practice. He became postmaster of Wethersfield in 1794. Not long thereafter, in 1796, he became Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas for Hartford County, and then in 1806 Clerk of the Superior Court (Yale Bios. 4:140-141)."
