p. 58 (citing p. 110). 8 MAY 1700. Judgment granted to Thomas Buckley against Dennis Oneale for 1,325 pounds of tobacco and casque and 3 barrels of Indian corn. Judgment is also granted to Dennis Oneale against Thomas Buckley for 1,392 pounds of tobacco and 5 barrels of Indian corn. _______________________


22 JAN 1702/03. Date recorded not given. Lancaster D&W 8, p. 128 (254). Will of Thomas Buckley, of Lancaster County. Leaves his plantation to his wife Frances for her life, and at her death to his grandson James Hill, on the condition that he, James Hill, "makes over to his brother William Hill his whole [interest] in the land where his father dwelt" in Lancaster County, bounded by Christopher Kirk. Personal estate to wife Frances. It further directs that the estate of Robert Hill, dec'd be cleared of all encumbrances and "may be for the sole use of his children." He also leaves to Richard Stephens 5 shillings to buy a pair of gloves, and the same amount for the same purpose to John Chilton, "son." (Examined.)

Upon the death of his wife Frances, the care of bringing up James, William and Frances Hill to go to Richard Stephens and his wife Hannah. Note that this list of children does not include Mary Hill mentioned in Robert Hill's inventory. She had perhaps married by this date, possibly to John Chilton, "son".

Executrix was wife Frances, with Richard Stephens and John Chilton "overseers."

p. 31 (citing p. 167a). 8 APR 1702. Thomas Buckley being arrested to this court at the suit of Thomas Martin and Richard Flint, securities to Thomas Buckley's administration of the estate of Robert Hill, in the amount of 14,429 pounds of tobacco, and Buckley not appearing in court judgment granted against the Sheriff, who petitions the court to attach the estate of Thomas Buckley returnable to the next court.

p. 43 (citing p. 173b of OB 4). 9 JUL 1702. Thomas Martin and Richard Flint vs. Thomas Buckley, administrator of the estate of Robert Hill. Martin and Flint were securities to Buckley's administration bond for the estate of Robert Flint, and desire to be released from their bonds. Thomas Buckley is ordered to give good security to keep the plaintiff's harmless, and to pay costs.

p. 73 (citing p. 27). 14 APR 1703. Richard Stephens vs. Elmore George, having exhibited in court the last will and testament of Thomas Buckley. Elmore George and Mary his wife petitioning for administration with the will annexed of Thomas Buckley's estate, and the court being divided in its opinion, the matter is deferred until the next court.

p. 73 (citing p. 27). 14 APR 1703. This entry immediately follows the one above. James Hill. Ordered that Richard Stephens (co-0verseer of Thomas Buckley's estate) deliver to the orphans of Robert Hill, deceased, to James Hill their grandfather he giving security not to remove their estates from Lancaster County.
