↑Source:Mitchell, Nahum. History of the Early Settlement of Bridgewater, in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, p. 125 makes the provably incorrect statement that "Thomas Buck was eldest son of Isaac and Frances Buck of Scituate". (This misstatement has been propagated and corrupted by the blind copyists of the Internet to give fairly ridiculous results, such as this WeRelate page, and this Find A Grave memorial). However, that Thomas Buck had died about 1701. Deeds of Thomas Buck posted on the Talk page include several that confirm this, and further, identify Thomas Buck of Scituate as his eldest son, with a wife Hannah, and living in Scituate when this Thomas was in Bridgewater. While it is suspected that Thomas was descended from Isaac Buck of Scituate, probably a grandson, it is not known how. The Buck Genealogy cited thinks he is a son of Benjamin, but there are no records of this, it is merely speculation based on process of elimination and the occurrence of Benjamin as a name in some of the descendants.
