Letter to Cousin Nora Brook Witt 752 Flower City Pk. Rochester 13, N.Y. Sept. 7, 1955 Dear Nora; I was really surprised to hear from you as I was in New Jersey a few weeks ago and stopped to see your Mother but she was not at home and we could not wait as we were on our way to N.Y.C. and then to Troy N.Y. My son Tommy starts to College this month and we were looking over several possiblities including Villanova in Phila. However he was awarded a scholarship to Assumption in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, so the present plans call for him to go there for two years and then finish at the U. of Detroit. (He is quite a boy by the way 17 years ols and 6' 5" tall). We also have three girls the oldest Joan is out of college and Jimmy the second oldest is working for the New York Life Ins. Co. Karen started the first grade yesterday. Sorry I'm so late in answering but your letter arrived after we left on our vacation. Ceal and I made a western trip this year. We took in Rocky Mtn. Park, Colorado Springs and The Grand Canyon, 15 states in all and 6000 miles. it was quite a trip. Back to work on Monday. Now for the detective work. Dad never kept any records so there was no help from that quarter. Grandfather's name was Edward but I have no idea where he was born. I'm fairly sure that Grandmother is buried in Syracuse, N.Y. As you probably know Uncle Ed still lives there. We went to visit him shortly before my Dad died. and haven't heard from him since. First chance I get I'll take a trip to Syracuse and see if he can tell me anything. I doubt it very much as the last time I saw him he was pretty feeble. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, let me know how you make out. Love from all of us. Tom. References
