RELIGION: Christian - Religious Society of Friends. DEATH: Some controversy here, to be cleared up. Leicester says 1852. G.J. Binns gives 1862 in his genealogy. Sunderland gives 1842!! OCCUPATION: Leather cutter. Local historian. With the help of his nephew and others he collected a very large number of plans and other documents relating to Lancaster and the surrounding district, and these, containing 6,000 items, are preserved in thirty-five volumes in the Liverpool Public Library and ought to be far better known than they now are. They were acquired by the Liverpool Corporation for £300. He wrote many obituary notices; he left much manuscript material in the Binns Collection and a small scrap of thirty-two words in the possession of Mr. G. J. Binns [T.
