- From "Lincoln County, Kentucky:
- BALL - Thomas Ball was born 1752. He married Mary Reed. Her family was early settlers of Lincoln County. Thomas Ball died in 1820. It has been said that he and his wife had eight children.
- In his will that was probated April 10, 1820, mentions his wife, sons Jon and William, grand-daughters Mary Davidson, Amanda Cook, Matilda Nichols, Munford Ball, his son-in-law William Ball and says my infant children. There were no names mentioned.
- Lillie Ball (daughter of Thomas) married William Munford on June 14, 1803. The bondsman was Thomas Ball.
