Andrew and Theresia came to America in November 1884 on the same ship. He had a blonde sister. Andrew worked in the engine room shoveling coal for his passage over. Theresia was sick all the way over. Andrew served two years in the German army as was required of all young men at the time. In America he was a farmer.
