Obituary:Shared by Tom Dewlen from his mother's scrapbook: The funeral of Mrs. Davis S. Underwood who died at her home in Helt township [Vermillion County, Indiana] October 20, 1921 was held at the Tennessee Valley church, Saturday afternoon, the pastor Rev. F. G. Gilroy of Sidell, Ill., officiating. Burial followed in the Bono cemetery.

   The following obituary was read at the funeral service:
   Theodosia L.. [Lucinda] Dugger was born in Carter county, Tennessee, 

January 25, 1854 and died October 20, 1921 being at the time of her death, 67 years, 8 months, and 25 days old.

            She removed with her family to Indiana when a young girl and has 

ever since made this state her home.

   In young womanhood she became a Christian and united with the Tennessee 

Valley Baptist church and was a loyal supporter of the same until removed by death.

   March 11, 1877 she was united in marriage to David S. [Slater] Underwood 

who with her daughter Ruth [Mrs. Eddie E. Barr] and four grandchildren are left to mourn their loss.

   Besides her immediate family she leaves a brother, John F. Dugger of 

Memphis, Tenn., and a number of nephews and nieces who were almost as dear to her as her own; and many dear friends and relatives who will miss her greatly.
