Woodbridge, Theodore, Hartford. Will dated 8 August, 1740: I, Theodore Woodbridge, being bound on a voyage to sea, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my honoured mother, Abigail Woodbridge, all my lands, tenements, hereditaments, with all my goods, chattells and credits of what kind or nature soever, that is to say, all my estate, real and personal, wheresoever the same is, or however the same is or may be described, to be to her and her heirs and assigns forever. And I do hereby further will and determine that if it should so happen that my sd. mother should die after my decease without disposeing of the estate I have herein devised to her, the same estate after her death I will and devise to be to my brother-in-law Ashbell Woodbridge and my brothers-in-law Richard, Epaphras and Ichabod Lord, that is to say, in such proportion as that brother Ashbell Woodbridge shall have the full half thereof, and the other half to be divided between the sd. Richard, Epaphras and Ichabod, to them and their heirs forever. I do appoint my mother, Mrs. Woodbridge, to be sole executrix.

Court Record (follows the will, on the same page), first Tuesday of October, 1747: The last will of Theodore Woodbridge, late of Hartford decd., was now exhibited in Court by Mrs. Abigail Woodbridge, executrix named in said will, who accepted the trust thereof. Said will being proved, is by this Court approved and ordered to be recorded and kept upon file. Test: Joseph Talcott, Clerk.
