Information from the RootsWeb database of Church Speed: "Thoedore served as a Pvt in Co. H-Maury Greys of the Confederate Army. He was engaged in the Battles of Cheat Mountain/Romney Campaign in Virginia, Shiloh, Perryville, and Georgia Campaign. At the siege of Atlanta, a shell exploded at the right side of his head, the concussion of which resulted in the loss of his right eye. After being released as a prisoner-of-war in 1866, Theodore made his way back to Maury Co., as a war weary Confederate Veteran. He received a Confederate pension after April 20, 1906." |
