Beal Local resident Theodore "Ted" L. Beal Sr., 87, passed away on Memorial Day at Flagler Hospital. He was born in New Kensington, Pa., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past 47 years. Mr. Beal was a World War II veteran, having served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne during the Battle of the Bulge. For combat wounds he received in the Argonne Forest, he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was retired and had many club affiliations including VFW, Moose, Past Worthy President of Eagles and a 28-year membership in the local Elks. In his later years, his favorite pastime was attending the St. Augustine Council on Aging. References
