1823 !BIRTH: New York, Saratoga Co., Mechanicville - 17 Mar 1823 !BIOGRAPHY: Theodore, the eldest child of William and Sylvia Baker, was born on March 17, 1823, at Mechanicville, N. Y. He lived practically all his life in Stillwater where he was a carpenter. Among his special designs were his octagon shaped houses and spiral staircases. Several of each still remain in Stillwater village, which give evidence of the durability of his work. He died on April 8,1889, at Stillwater and is buried in the Baker cemetery. He was married three times. First to Lydia Neilson, who died on May 23, 1859, and is buried in the Dunning Street Cemetery; second to Susan Lyon, who died September 15,1873, and is buried in the Baker Cemetery; third to Harriet Miller, who died March, 1900. Theodore built the Stillwater United Church on North Hudson Ave., Stillwater and his own octagonal house also on North Hudson Avenue (Route 3 & 32) and Park Avenue..
