Amazing! My great great grandfather Theodore S. Austin (7-22-1827 to 10-30-1902) married Sarah Jane Duffer (8-25-1830 to 6-22-1919); our Austin family tree information, in its infancy, has only a record of his son Alfred (12-9-1861 to 1-4-1944), my great grandfather. I did not find a listing for Valentine or Mariah Austin in the will index. I also checked the Civil War Pension index and did not find but one listing for a soldier from Sumner Co., a J. T. Austin. Where did you get Valentine's year of death? There was a Dickerson Austin listed in the 1850 Sumner Co. census.

Could not find Theodore in the 1850 Census. Where did he go? In the marriage records he was listed as Theodore S, and listed and his bride was listed as Sarah Jane Austin, married on 16 Jun 1846.

I found three marriages for Austin Duffer: #1)Mrs. Elizabeth Rawlins - 6 Jan 1807 #2) Nancy Gregory - 19 Apr 1810, both of these marriages in Charlotte Co., Va. and #3) Sally Hunt - 8 Oct 1825, Sumner Co.,Tn.
