DEATH: Traverse City Record Eagle June 29, 1999 Thelma I. 'Peggy' Knight Died June 26, 1999 TRAVERSE CITY - Thelma I. "Peggy" Knight, 84, of Traverse City, died Saturday, June 26, 1999, at Munson Medical Center. Born Feb. 7, 1915, in Alpena, she was the daughter of William and Ethel R. (Priest) Kelly. She married Cyril Knight on Jan. 13, 1934, in Kingsley. She was a resident of Traverse City and Kingsley for most of her life. She was a homemaker. A member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, she also belonged to Eagles Auxiliary No. 383. She also was a member of the Traverse City Senior Center Band. Peggy and her husband, Cyril, also spent many hours entertaining nursing home residents throughout the region. She is survived by her husband; four children, Beverly Graham of Copemish, Trula (Matthew) Gasior of Sheldon, Wis., Carol (William) Houghton of Kingsley, and Raymond (Linda) Knight of Halifax, Pa.; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The Rev. Bruce VanDussen will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Kingsley. Arrangements are being handled by Covell-Smith Funeral Home.
