    Never married. Was all her life a registered nurse. During World War I, she worked at Knoxville (TN) General Hospital where her older sister, Emily, was Director of Nursing. Later, she returned to Maryville with her mother and brother Howard. She worked and lived at the Maryville College Infirmary the rest of her life
