    "Thankful Beardslee, b c. 1747, d 21 Nov 1844 æ. 97 (g. g. mother of Gen. Tom Thumb) (church record, Christ Church (Prot. Ep.), West Haven."

    Thankful Beardsley was almost certainly that Thankful born at Stratford 2 March 1748, daughter of Samuel & Eunice (Brown) Beardsley. Only two persons named Thankful Beardsley appear in the published Connecticut vital records, the other being born, also at Stratford, 1 March 1710/11, daughter of William & Elizabeth (Brown) Beardsley. Her stated age at death, as recorded at Christ Church in West Haven, corresponds closely to the 2 March 1748 date of birth given in the Stratford Vital Records.

    It should be emphasized that the identity of this woman as wife of Jeduthan Thompson and Titus Beecher has apparently not been proven.
