1807 24 license issued to Catskill dealers to sell liquor, fee $5. Among dealers was Thaddeus Luddington. Luddington Oyster Bar at corner of Bridge and Main Street. Torn down with other buildings to build Courthouse and Jail. Thaddeus in the article was really Tertullis Ludington, s/o Col. Henry Ludington. Both him and Sybil Ludington Ogden (widow) had moved to Catskill where they were licensed to sell spirits. Sybil was the only woman in county with license to to do that. Citation needed
