This means that the NIX family, at least some of them got to Blount County before the Ellisons, Harrison Jennings Nix was 7 and born in Alabama, while 6 year old Berry was born in S. Carolina. Check to see if I can find any land purchase by Ellison before his death, or was it all by William? Is there any way to locate the resisdence in 1860?

1900 U.S. Census Alabama Blount All Townships ED# 16 Apparently Altoona was not a big town in 1900, and they were still undecided about what Conty they were in. This appears in District 16, Rays and Thompson, Blount County, Alabama
