Tacy Knipe was born in Morristown, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John Knipe and Mary Moser Knipe. At age nine, she immigrated with her parents to Butler County, Iowa where she grew to womanhood. She and George Morgan were married on May 5, 1865. Their first son, Curtis Eugene, was born March 21, 1869 at Willouby, Butler County, Iowa.
