• Father died shortly after his birth and his mother married Cyrus' brother, Smith. Possibly the person referred to as "Venie" in the 1900 census with Smith and Emma (nee Nichols). Birthplaces of parents are correct, although month of birth is different.

   Venie Cyrus Hill, Town of Pewaukee, Dies on Thursday
   
   Venie Cyrus Hill, 69, Town of Pewaukee, died at Wisconsin General Hospital, Madison, Thursday, August 23. In addition to his widow Mrs. Emma Hill, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George Wrighton, Waukesha; and two sons, Lester E., town of Pewaukee, and Staff Sergeant Elwyn Hill, Langley Field, Va. Other survivors include four brothers, Walter, Newburg, Ore.; Ernest, Norfolk, Va.; and Bert and Wallace, Waukesha; and six grandchildren.
   
   Mr. Hill, who was for 20 years an employee of the Waukesha Motor Co., also operated a farm at Plainfield, Wis. He and his wife moved back to Waukesha in 1941.
   
   Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at the Erling Larsen funeral home, with the Rev. Hugh M. Reiner officiating. Interment will be at Oak Knoll Cemetery, Mukwonago. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Walter of Newberg Oregon..Vernon of Norfolk VA and Bert and Wallace of Waukesha. The funeral will be Saturday at 2pm at the Erling Larsen chapel, with the Rev. Hugh Reiner officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll cemetery. Mukwonago. Friends may call at the chapel after 7pm Friday.
