Possibly accompanied John Newquist to America. They received their exit permits on September 21, 1868 and are listed on adjacent lines. He would be a third cousin to John.

in the 1870 MN Census, Swen Johnson was listed in the same village of Marine Mills where John settled.

Regarding S. Johnson, the 1890 voter registration list a S. Johnson living @@ 38 Milton Avenue having a October 30, 1876 Naturalization date. The 1888 Swedish voters for Chicago list a number of men living @@ 38 Milton Avenue:C.P. Johnson, C.T. Johnson, S. Johnson, F. F. Johnson, John Grein and H. Benson. It looks like this address is an apartment house located in Swede town of Chicago.

I found a Sven Johnson( Salt Lake, Utah ) in the 1900 census who entered the U.S. in 1868, another Sven Johnson in the 1900 census living in Calumet Township with a birth about 1843, having arrival date of 1868, employed as roofer.

I send this information because they all have potential. I was attracted to the one having a October 30, 1876 naturalization date. I sent asking for his and his brothers letter of intent and final papers. I asked for Sven's letter of intent happening in Ramsey County, Minnesota and his final papers happening in Chicago around the October 30, 1876 date.

To place an order

1. Click on the checkboxes above that interest you. 2. Fill in your name, street address and email address (optional) below. 3. Click on the gray button to continue.

This will prepare an order form that you can print on your printer and either (1) send it with your check to the address that will be on the form or (2) pay via PayPal using their secure website.

Because each order requires a trip to Madison or another library or courthouse location (70 to 160 miles round trip from my house) and sometimes parking ($9 for 4 hours at the Milwaukee courthouse), I request a $15 minimum order. You can print multiple forms if needed (to get surnames starting with different letters) and write a single check if you would like.
