the 1850 census (Union Co. GA) says Susannah was born in Virginia but that seems unlikely - her parents had left Virginia for NC much earlier than that.

1814 she has Joseph out of wedlock - father unknown - doubtful that Asa was the biological father as he never gave Joseph his name although deeds would indicate he thought of him as his son (he sells land to Joseph describing him as "my beloved Joseph".
