    In Memory of Susan LeForge
    Fairfax, O., May 7th, 1894

Death has again visited our little village and claimed Susan LeForge as his victim.
Aunt Susan, as she was familiarly called, was one of our oldest residents, having emigrated from Virginia to this place over sixty years ago. After emigrating to this vicinity she married John LeForge.
From this union there was born to them two sons and two daughters, all of whom have preceded her to the better land.
Her husband died about nine years ago, and of all their family Aunt Susan was the last one called, but when the summons came on the 25th of April she was ready for the journey, having made her peace with the Master when she was but a blooming maiden.
She had been a faithful and consistent member of the M. E. Church for upwards of seventy years, and during all that time was never known to shirk any church duty, and was always foremost in the workings of the church.
At the time of her death she was 87 years and 8 days old, one of the oldest citizens of Concord Township. She had been confined to her bed for nearly a year, but during all her suffering was never heard to complain, but silently awaited the Savior's call when she would be re-united with her loved ones gone on before.
Her door was always open to the preacher and many now in the Cincinnati Conference will well remember the hospitality of Aunt Susan.
She was buried in the M. E. Cemetery at that place from the house of L. F. Webster, where she had been making her home for the last eight months, and we can truly say of her, "Aged pilgrim, art thou bending over thy staff like the patriarch seeking a better country; do thy aged limbs tremble on the way? Be of good courage, the difficult heights before thee are the Delectable Mountains.
Struggle on, thou art on the threshold of thy home; there is rest for thee there, thy home is above and a rest remaineth for thee there." There's rest at home, in that heavenly home.

The voyage of life's at an end,
    The mortal affliction is past,
The age that in heaven shall spend
    Forever and ever shall last.
