Susannah Lewis was baptised on 11th October 1808 at Husborne Crawley in Bedfordshire, daughter of Mary Lewis, formerly Goodman, and her husband George Lewis, an agricultural labourer. Susannah has yet to be traced after her baptism.

    There is a later baptism too:
    1810 / Feb[ruar]y 25th Lewis Bapt[ize]d Susan D[aughte]r of George & Mary
    Given that there is no burial for the 1808 Susannah in Husborne Crawley or Bedfordshire or Buckinghamshire, is is considered that either the second baptism is the same child (perhaps being received into the church), or the second Susan belongs to a different family: quite likely that of Thomas Lewis and Martha Drinkwater who were also having children at Husborne Crawley around this time.
