This Susannah is listed as a daughter of Francis Jackson and a granddaughter of the Samuel who wrote his will in 1785. The will is in her grandfather Samuel's Notes.

I have used the birth and death info for Susanna from Rhonda Gryspos' rootsweb chart but have been unable to verify her burial in Muskingum Co., Ohio. If someone can verify this, I would appreciate knowing about it. Ms. Gryspos' chart attributes Susannah's father, Francis, to a different Jackson line than I have done; that of Francis Jackson son of Williams Jackson.

Note from Jack McAnally: "The Ralph Jackson lineage is wonderfully presented by Jim Jackson at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~jackson/report.htm Our two Jackson lines have been erroneously connected many times and to me it appears this has happened again. The Y-DNA of these two lines of Jackson indicate they are completely unrelated and I would conjecture that the Francis Jackson of Fauquier is not of the line from Ralph Jackson but really of the Hempstead Jackson lineage, since neither Ralph Jackson nor his son, Williams, nor his grandson, Francis, was ever in Fauquier County. --end of Jack's note--

Susannah's grandfather Samuel, when he wrote his 1785 will, named his son Francis and Francis' child, Susannah. Now could this be the same Susannah who married Thomas Redman?? The close family connections noted below indicate that this is a likely conjecture.

I have run onto the names of Redman, Calvert & Jackson together in the following records: 1786 Mar 6 John Jackson, George Jackson, John Calvert, John Redman and James Greenstad are bonded; John and George Jackson are executors for the estate of Samuel Jackson (will 1785). [Turner's Bond Book]

4 April 1786, recorded WB G, pp. 340-342 PWC. In this inventory Samuel is called Samuel Jackson Senior. The appraisers were John Calvert, Redman & Benjamin Mattison.

The book: "Calverts of Virginia" at ancestry.com, pg 80 says that John Calvert died before June 9, 1788, on which date his Inventory was taken by William Alexander, Benjamin Materson, Scarlet Madden & James Gwatkins. Note that Benj. Materson also witnessed Samuel Jackson's 1785 will and also appraised Samuel's estate.

Also this quote from the book "Calverts of Virginia", pg 104: "1794 John Calvert of county of Prince William sold to Richard Scott Blackburn and Burr Peyton, slaves William and Fanny and her child, to relieve the bond [on the estate of John Calvert, Sr.] with the said John Calvert, John Jackson and James Roach." This is an important item as it connects both the Calverts, and John Jackson with John's brother-in-law, James Roach, husband of Nancy Jackson Roach. John Calvert Jr. was brother-in-law of John Jackson, husband of Chloe Ann Calvert. Nancy Roach was named as a daughter in Samuel's 1785 Will.
