Notes for SUSAN HANSBROUGH: The will of Otho W. Ogden was written 21 January 1865. He leaves to his only son Smith J. Ogden [he married Minerva Acock], the place on which he lives. [His wife Susan Hansbrough was deceased in 1850.] "Bounded west by the Watermellon road, and all on the south-east of the Clarksville Road. Also my knob tract of land lying between this place and Russellville, also the Herrington tract of land. He also leaves to daughter Mrs. Susan Venable [1820-1902] a tract of land. [She married Albert G. Venable and their children are Peyton, Otho B., Atty Lee, George, and Bessie S. Venable.] Mr. Ogden stipulated that, "I desire that the burying ground including one acre of ground shall never be sold or transferred. Ex. S. J. Ogdon. An indenture was made in 1816 between Smith Hansbrough and Otho Ogden where Smith sells to Ogden a tract of land, part of the purchase of C. Ornsdorf, and containing 80 acres, recorded in the office of Logan County, Kentucky, 23 day of April 1816. Refer to a deposition taken from Otho Ogden in 1857 recording that, ". . . he knows old man Stark since 1816-7, lived about fifty miles apart, that they [Thornton Stark and Otho Ogden] married sisters."
