Facts and Events
She was pregnant at the time Silas died in 1851. Susannah Campbell Glover was appointedco-administrator (trix) with George Glasscock to settle the estate of Silas M.Glover. Her petition as widow, at the April Term 1852, County Court, TravisCounty, TX, represented that of the household furniture received, two featherbeds were turned over to the guardians of the [minor] heirs of Silas M. Glover;that she with her infant child are in a helpless condition, the means shereceived not being sufficient for her maintenance, and she represented that thelands belonging to the estate of her late husband are lying upon the frontierof the state and unsafe for settlement by her in her helpless condition. She requested that a sufficiency of money now in the hands of the Administrators beallowed to her to enable her to purchase a home for herself and her infant child, and upon receipt of such, she was willing to relinquish her interest in the real estate of her deceased husband in favor of the minor heirs who have guardians. |
