First married John Russell? One Susanna listed as wife of John Russell, daughter of William and Rebecca French. Immigrated about 1788 from St. Mary’s Co to Nelson Co, KY. William French is listed as the son of Martin and Mary French and also moved to Nelson Co about 1788. Randolph and Jeremiah (brothers) also listed as moving to Nelson Co at the same time. All this from St. Mary’s Migrations [1], referencing William Elder, Ancestors and Descendants (Mary Louise Donnelly.,P.O. Box 97, Ennis, Texas, 75120, c 1986) Source also lists Ignatius French (1705-1771) as William’s brother, and the family names strongly tie him to Susanna and William. The wills of Ignatius and several of his sons are found here: http://www6.ewebcity.com/lronan/frenchwills.htm#IgnatiusFrenchSR. There is no James French who had a daughter Susanna.
