Susan married Nathaniel Tarbet on Feb 16, 1808 in Greenville, VA. She bore Nathaniel 1 child Elizabeth Tarbet.

Elizabeth is buried in Bethel Cemetery near Greenville. Her monument reads; "In Memory of Elizabeth A. B. wife of Jonathan Brown who departed this life Nov. 23rd 1848 in the 28th year of her age."

Susan's manument reads; "Susan Tarbet died Dec. 22, 1845 age 54 years and 9 months."

The Augusta Historical bulitin, 1979-8 Vol 15, No. 2, page 50 reads; "Died on the 22nd Dec. 1845, near Greenville, Augusta Co., VA., Mrs. Susan Preston TARBET, wife of Mr. Nathaniel Tarbet, Aged 54 years and 9 months...delicate health for some years...during the last summer and fall she declined rapidly in a pulmonary consumption...Member of the Presbyterian Church of Bethel. Democrat. (8 January 1846).

Sarah Tarbet is buried next to Susan.
