Susan Mary Johnston, age 92 of Lima, passed at 7:41 p.m., Monday, October 23, 2032 at Lima Memorial Hospital.
She was born February 21, 1931 in Lima, Ohio to the late Richard Joseph and Bernice Ann Robyn Ricker.
On September 2, 1950 she married John Wesley 'Jack' Johnston, who passed July 4, 2001.
Sue was an avid collector and dealer of antiques and a member of St. John's Catholic Church.
After high school she attended St. Rita's School of Nursing. She enjoyed reading, accumulating antique jewelry, and had an eye for decorating. She had many good memories of the hills of Dover where she called home.
Sue loved the holidays, especially Christmas when the house had to fit the tree, and it gave her much pleasure, surprising her family with gifts of love.
Surviving are 4 children – Karen A. (Marcus) Porter of Harrod; Pam (Mike) Doepker of Wapakoneta; Wes (Karen) Johnston of Elida; Andy (Jennifer) Johnston of Lima; 12 grandchildren – Shane Porter, Kelsey Porter, Ben Doepker, Lucas Doepker, Alissa (Mark) Hopman, Amanda (Brandon) Hall, Andrea (Josh) Foltz, Michael Johnston, Jaiden (Brandon Cook) Johnston, Jenea Johnston, Jack Johnston, and Jacob Johnston; 11 great grandchildren and a sister Patti Miller and her family of Quincy, Michigan.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023 at St. John's Catholic Church, Lima. Father David Ross will officiate. The burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
A Rosary Service will begin at 7:30 p.m., Friday, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday October 27, 2023 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Catholic Church.
