After an illness of several months from organic disease of the heart, Mrs. William J. Dunlap died at her home on Fifth avenue, Clarion, Pa., Monday, May 25, 1908.
During the past weeks her family and a large circle of sympathizing friends have anxiously watched her fading health and great sorrow was manifested on all sides, especially when it became apparent that the work of the fell destroyer, death, could not be stayed. She has entered into rest.
Mrs. Dunlap was Miss Sue C. Richards, the daughter of Abraham and Rebecca Richards. She was born in Clarion January 24, 1842 and here she has lived her entire life. In 1860 she was united in marriage with Joshua H. Delo and to them before Mr. DeJo's death, 2 children were born, namely, .J. S. Delo, Chicago, III., and Mary H. Delo at home.
The deceased's second marriage was to W.J. Dunlap and took place March 12, 1867. To them the following children were born: John I. Dunlap, Summerville; S.R. Dunlap, Brookville; Lloyd B., and Ed. N. Dunlap, New York City; Nellie Dunlap at home, and Arthur who died October 26, 1884. She is also survived by one brother, T.B. Richards and a half brother George M. Richards, both of Clarion.
Mrs. Dunlap was a sincere, earnest and practical Christian for many years holding an estimable place in the Presbyterian church of Clarion. She was a tender hearted, gentle and loving woman and was always ready with kind ministrations if she could be of any help.
The funeral services were held at the family home on the 27th , under the direction of her pastor, Rev. Wm. F. Fleming, assisted by Rev. B.P. Delo and her remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Clarion cemetery. To the bereaved husband and family goes out the sympathy of the entire community.
