I have a copy of a Daniel Nix copied from the Blount County Courthouse from the SOUTHERN DEMOCRAT dated Jan 8, 1912, Thursday. It states as follows:

"Daniel Nix Passes Away Daniel Nix, one of the old pioneer citizens of North Alabama died at his home near Altoona last Saturday night. Mr. Nix was 92 years of age and was one of the first settlers of this section. He was a man who was loved by all who knew him. He was the grand father of Mrs. J. M. Harris of this place."

If the news article was in the Jan 8, 1912, Thursday paper, then then "Last Saturday night" would have been the 3rd day of January. The Mrs. J.M. Harris would have been Mrs. James Monroe Harris. dau of Lettice Malinda Nix and Daniel's Granddaughter.

F. age 7m ie born 1873, daughter, Dempsey R. ; W. M. age 1---ie born 1879, Son 

4.  Susie Elizabeth Bynum (1874-1954) married Monroe Harris (a brother of Roland Harris who married Susie's cousin,  Della Bynum). Susie and Monroe had five children:  Ethel, Esther,  Ellie, Louie and Grady.
