Buckingham Co. (VA) Tax List 1800 shows Stuart 1-3-1-0 [white men-horses-slaves over 16-slaves under 16]. (Va. Gen. vol. 12, p. 168)

Stuart first appears in 1796 in an entry combined with James, where they seem to take over Mark's land from William. That tax entry disappears in 1804, and he doesn't appear again in Buckingham Co. (Va. Land Tax Records @ State Archives)

Stewart appears in Smith Co. TN in 1820 & 1830; Jonathan C. on same census page. Noah in Smith Co. in 1820 and Joel L. in same county in 1830. Stewart's 1820 entries are: 100101-23210.
