Stephen died in the Town(ship) of Manchester, Bennington County, VT. There is no death date on him. Some believe that he and his "first wife" were buried in a cemetery that became abandoned and later a parking lot. After Stephen died, Martha left and went with Stephen, Jr. to Leeds County, Ontario. She was listed in Stephen Jr's will as his "aged mother", so she was still alive there in 1813. Living near Stephen in Manchester was his oldest son, Tabor Washburn. I have been gathering information on this family for about 30 years and this is the first time that I have seen that Stephen had two wives. I am writing this off the top of my head, but I can look up anything I have confirmed that you might be interested in. I think when Fred Graham originally sent this information to me, Stephen and Martha's family began with the Stephen born in 1770. But if I am to believe any of these postings, it appears that his first wife, Martha Tabor, died in Manchester and he probably married Martha Bull in Manchester. From MaryLu McClure, 12/2007
