Ryerson, Stephen, born 2/9/1763 in Dutchess County, New York where entered service 1777 in New York regiment; made Prisoner of War & taken by British to Plymouth, England, later exchanged & returned to America, where completed term of service; married 3/1793 Mary Kime, Bath County, Virginia & soon after moved to Stokes County, North Carolina where entered service 1814 in 10th North Carolina Regiment for service in War of 1812; granted bounty Land Warrant 27864 for that service; occupation blacksmith; died 12/10/1849 Stokes County, North Carolina; widow received Pension abt. age 74 there in 1850; children then: James age 52, Ebenezer age 50, Betheny age 48, Margaret age 46, Elisha age 44, Elijah age 42, Charles age 40, Stephen Jackson age 37, Winston age 35 & William G. age 36, Bath County, Virginia, court clerk Stephen A. Porter certified then there no record of soldier & wife's marriage in Bath County; James Ryerson (no kinship given) Stokes County, North Carolina, County Justice of the Peace then; widow granted Bounth Land Warrant 68913 there in 1855 for soldier's War of 1812 service; widow's Pension cut off there during Civil War but restored there 1866 when she was age 90.
