On Aug. 25, 1825, Stephen Pruitt bought 200 acres on Lynn Camp Creek, Knox Co., Ky., two poplars and a black oak from Jesse and Amelia Moore in consid. of $90; Rec. Sept 18, 1826 (Knox Co., Ky. Bk C, p. 485)
Stephen and Naomy Pruet sold the 200 acres on Lynn Camp Creek, two poplars and a black gum to John Weaver of Laurel Co., Ky. in consid. of $90; Rec. Sept 28, 1826 (Knox Co., Ky. Bk C, p. 485)
In 1826, Stephen Pruett moved to Parke Co., Indiana. "Jesse and Amelia Moore, both of S.C. came to Indiana in a very early day of 1826, and sought a home in Jackson Township. Three families: Jesse & Amelia Moore; Naomi Pruett and husband, with two children; Thomas Moore and wife, and one child, Joab, single; Jesse and son, Joab, 1/2 the land; Thomas & Stephen the other half. Thomas now is the wealthiest man in Jackson Township" (History of Parke and Vigo Co., p. 373).

On Sept. 10, 1838, Stephen Pruett received a patent from the U.S. Government for 40 acres in Jackson Twp. (Bk 7, p. 368).
On March 23, 1842, Stephen and Naomy Pruett sold land in 9-14-6, Jackson Twp., to Johnathan Pruett for $500 (Parke Co., Bk 7, p.42).
